The Jews left Jerusalem after the Great Revolt (or the First Jewish Roman War) during 66 A.D. There was conflict between Jews and Romans caused by their religion. The Romans made the Jews to pay a lot of taxes and would persecute them. The Jews had finally enough, they decided to fight back against the roman empire. The Jews went on and started an anti-taxation protests, then they went overboard by attacking the roman citizens. The Romans responded to this by tearing down the second temple and killing more than 6,000 Jews.Then the Romans defeated Jerusalem and drove the all the Jews out.
